Know Your Rights Camp is back! Each summer, our team hosts a 1-week legal empowerment camp for Twin Cities youth. It’s an opportunity to build practical knowledge and skills related to legal empowerment. Throughout the course of the week, we cover core topics of our Know Your Rights curriculum (STAND, Your Rights at a Protest, Youth Justice), build practical skills around how to effectively invoke your rights in interactions with law enforcement, and talk about advocacy and community organizing. Know Your Rights Camp is also an opportunity to meet new people and explore careers in the legal field.
2026 Know Your Rights Camp will run July 27 – July 31, hosted from 9am-3pm each day at North Commons Park in North Minneapolis. This opportunity is for BIPOC youth, with priority given to North Minneapolis students. Participation in Know Your Rights Camp is free, with meals provided and transportation support offered as needed. If you’re interested in joining us, please complete the brief registration form below or reach out to Michael Harrell, Legal Empowerment Lead, at mharell@legalrightscenter.org with questions.
